Ponytail Palm in White Ceramic Cachepot

Ponytail Palm is a catchy name and one that suits the look of this charmer, but Beaucarnea recurvata is not, in fact, a Palm, it’s a succulent that originated in the semi-arid desert regions of eastern Mexico. Like many desert dwellers, it is designed to hold water, its sizeable, swollen base functioning as a kind of canteen (and serving as inspiration for the plant’s other common name, Elephant’s Foot Tree). From the base emerges a trunk-like stem that seems to have gathered up an ebullient spray of strappy, recurved, green foliage resembling a ponytail. Grown in full sun or bright indirect light, plants can reach 3 feet tall. Winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Shipped in a 7½" wide x 7¼" tall White Ceramic Cachepot.
