Red Mulching Film (4' X 100')

Red mulching film is a proven tool for increasing yields, enhancing crop quality, and supporting healthy soil conditions. This 1.0 mil uniform red plastic provides reliable durability throughout the growing season and is easy to install in garden beds or small farm rows. The red color reflects specific light wavelengths that promote plant growth, helping tomatoes, strawberries, and other crops produce more abundant and higher-quality harvests.

Red mulch has been shown to increase tomato production from 12–20% due to the reflection of certain growth-enhancing light waves from sunlight onto the plant. Strawberry plants were also shown to produce larger berries when grown with this mulch. It also suppresses weeds, retains moisture, warms the soil by 4–6ºF, and conserves key nutrients—especially nitrogen—reducing the need for frequent fertilization.

To use, lay the film over prepared soil beds and cut holes or slits at the desired spacing for transplants or direct seeding. Secure the edges with soil, landscape staples, or other anchoring methods to keep the mulch in place. Ideal for vegetables, berries, and other warm-season crops that benefit from improved soil temperatures and reduced weed competition.
