The tri-colored leaves of Red Prayer Plant (Maranta leuconeura var. erythroneura) are marvelous not only for their shades of deep emerald and pale green interspersed with scarlet veins in a rhythmic herringbone pattern. As with other members of the Maranta genus, the leaves fold up at night into a position reminiscent of praying hands. Make sure this Brazilian native has adequate moisture, warm temperatures, and plenty of bright, indirect light. The cascading tendency of the plant appears with age. Shipped in a nursery pot.
