Ruby Tang Fig

Ruby Tang comes from California, and it is not yet confirmed whether or not it is common. However, many wild seedlings such as this will produce delicious fruit, even when un-caprified. Ruby Tang is a very pretty fig with shiny green skin. You can also see some light violet striping or coloring on the skin. The figs have a round shape and grow on trees with attractive leaves. The large leaves typically have 5 or 7 lobes and their edges are gently wavy. When left to ripen on the tree, Ruby Tang figs will develop a nice jammy texture. Inside, the pulp is bright red and has a “sour punch” type of flavor. It starts out with a burst of raspberry flavor, but there is definitely a tartness to each bite that balances out the sweetness. The vibrant color and tangy sweet taste makes Ruby Tang as good and tasty as a piece of candy.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
