String of Frogs (Ficus pumila ‘Quercifolia’)

String of Frogs is one of the best miniature ground covers for container culture. This small version of the creeping fig, also known as Miniature Oakleaf Fig, is perfect for terrarium culture where it thrives under low light and high humidity. String of Frogs is useful as a hanging plant, grown in a tabletop planter or used as a ground cover for larger plants since the vining stems spill over the pot’s edge forming a dense mat. It prefers even moisture and modest amounts of fertilizer. The indented leaves resemble tiny frogs or oak leaves.
