Closed terrariums are designed to thrive for years — but eventually plants can outgrow the glass, moss yellows, or mould can creep in after the balance inside is knocked. When that happens, a full refresh is almost always better than patching the odd patch here and there. Clear it out, start with fresh foundations, and replant.

Our Terrarium Refresh Kit gives you fresh terrarium soil, gravel, activated charcoal, pebbles and 4 healthy hand-picked plants to rebuild your display from the bottom up. Whether you need to strip back and refresh, or completely overhaul, this kit is for you.

Simply empty your existing container, give it a clean, and follow our simple step-by-step instructions to replant.

When to refresh your terrarium:

• Plants have overgrown and outgrown the glass
• Moss has yellowed, dried out or died back
• Excessive mould or white fuzz has appeared on the soil or plants
• The soil has compacted, stopped draining or started to smell
• Your terrarium just looks tired and you want a fresh start

This kit is suitable for closed terrarium containers from 10L–20L and uses our own terrarium soil, specially formulated for 'forest' type plants such as Asparagus Fern, Peperomia and Tradescantia.

This kit is not suitable for succulents and cacti.

Standard Kit Contents:

• 4 living closed terrarium plants (such as asparagus fern, peperomia and tradescantia)
• Living cushion moss
• 2kg* natural honey gravel
• 3 generous bags of closed terrarium soil (2.4 litres*)
• Activated charcoal
• Decorative pebbles
• Simple step-by-step replanting instructions

Deluxe Kit:

• As above, plus a stainless steel telescopic terrarium tool set (ideal for working inside narrow-necked containers without disturbing the rest)

Terrarium vase not included - please note, this kit is designed for a terrarium container you already own or purchase separately.
