UCR 187-25 Fig

UCR 187-25 is a medium sized fig with green skin. These figs have a long neck that extends down to a round body. The figs are covered in bright green skin that contrasts beautifully with their red pulp. The skin is sweet and not too chewy; good for eating. Another added bonus of the green skin is better camouflage from birds and critters who will want to steal a bite of these fruits. 

UCR 187-25 comes from the University of California Riverside fig breeding program that was begun by Dr. Ira Condi, a famous fig biologist. The program was designed to breed superior figs that did not require wasp pollination to produce great fruits. UCR 187-25 has been proven to have good resistance to splitting and is a productive variety.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
