Violette de Sollies Fig

Violette de Sollies figs have a long neck and are rounded sitting flat near the ostiole. Inside is a sweet and juicy pulp. The red pulp is rich, jammy, and has berry/cherry flavors. The shapely figs and extra large leaves (think dinner plate size) make this plant an attractive addition to yards. The figs themselves can weigh over 100 grams, categorizing them in the large size figs. While the figs have an open eye that may crack, they seem to have good resistance to spoiling. Depending on growing conditions, gardeners can find Violette de Sollies ripening around mid September. Violette de Sollies gets its name from its native home in southern France. The label of "Sollies" is a protected designation only granted to products from this region.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
