Water Pear (Syzygium guineense) – a hardy, indigenous evergreen that performs beautifully in Western Cape gardens whether grown as a single shade tree or trained into a dense, full hedge. Its glossy foliage creates a lush, year-round screen, offering excellent privacy, cooling shade and natural noise softening. From August to December it carries clusters of creamy white, lightly scented flowers that draw bees and seasonal pollinators.
