Wilson's Coyote Rainbow Fig

Wilson's Coyote Rainbow is a unique fig that was discovered growing in the wild on the property of Frosty Morning Farm. Frosty Morning is a ranch owned by Ryan Wilson, a hobby botanist and member of the California Rare Fruit Growers. Wilson noticed the rainbow colored figs growing amidst a thicket of blackberries. Wilson's ranch is located in West Marin, California, an ideal setting for fig growers who benefit from wasp pollination. However, Wilson distributed Coyote Rainbow to fig growers throughout the country to test its efficiency in the absence of fig wasps. The trials that began in 2023 have proven that Wilson's Coyote Rainbow is able to produce delicious rainbow figs with or without wasp pollination.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
