Winged Oxalis (Oxalis rusciformis)

Never out of bloom and often engulfed in cheery yellow flowers, this Brazilian species remains compact in form and tolerant of moderate light. The trilobed leaves form on the new growth at the tips of shiny wing-shaped leaf stems or petioles. They fall off after a short time and what remains are the leaf petioles that give the plant its foliage. Its short stature makes it perfect for windowsills or gardens with limited space.
