Sunbird Rooibos gets its certified organic Rooibos tea from the Wupperthal Original Rooibos Co-operative. This is a group of small-scale farmers in South Africa who have been growing Rooibos for generations.

The hottest and driest location in the Sunbird Rooibos sourcing collection is Wupperthal. It is close to the Tanqua Karoo, in the rain shadow, and on the east side of the Cederberg range. Another outcome of shale soils is the robust, dark-coloured leaves of these Rooibos. Tea and Rooibos tea experts, including those who make Sunbird Rooibos, say that the extreme weather makes tea of high quality.

HOW TO BREW
Follow these guidelines for the best taste.

• Place one teaspoon per cup in a stove-top kettle and boil vigorously for 2-4 minutes.
• Or, steep in a cup with freshly boiled water for 5-6 minutes.
