S-Curved Driftwood Stem
The stem is a single piece of naturally curved driftwood selected for its flowing S-shape. The wood bends organically through two or three direction changes between the base and the cap, creating a sculptural silhouette that shifts depending on your viewing angle. From the sofa, you see one curve. From the doorway, the shape changes entirely. The surface is stripped of bark by years of sun, wind, and water, leaving pale grey-silver heartwood with smooth worn areas, natural grooves, and knot stubs. No two stems share the same curve, the same surface texture, or the same lean.
Wide Dome Cap with Gill Glow
The cap is the widest in the driftwood floor lamp collection. It spreads outward like a parasol, overhanging the stem on all sides by several inches. The polished top surface shows warm golden grain in flowing cathedral patterns with natural color variation. Underneath, hundreds of tight gill lines are carved by hand from the center outward to the rim. The built-in LED strip shines through the carved channels, projecting a wide, warm 2700K sunburst that covers a full seating area. The gill lines are carved with slightly varied spacing, creating a natural, organic pattern rather than a mechanical grid. Dimmable from full reading brightness to a soft background glow.
Reading Lamp Proportions
The height and curve of the stem are proportioned to place the cap above and slightly in front of a seated reader.
