A striking and rare pair of Berlin fayence vases, masterfully decorated to evoke the rich, vibrant sheen of Japanese lacquer. Each vase features a domed lid surmounted by a finial in the form of a proudly perched rooster, rising above a generously bulbous body that tapers elegantly toward a shaped foot.
The surfaces are exuberantly adorned with vibrant floral sprays and raised Chinese figures and birds, all set within a delicate floral trellis-patterned border.
